Guidewires

Clinical Application

Guidewires are used to establish and maintain a controlled pathway within the vasculature for placement, exchange, and positioning of interventional devices.

They are used across interventional cardiology, structural heart procedures, peripheral vascular interventions, renal therapies, and critical care access where torque response, flexibility profile, and tip control are essential.

Guidewires support:

  • Initial vascular access and pathway creation
  • Navigation through tortuous anatomy
  • Device exchange and repositioning
  • Structural and large-bore device support

Design and Performance

ALSPL guidewires are engineered to deliver predictable torque transmission, controlled flexibility, and stable distal navigation.

Key characteristics include:

  • Nitinol or stainless steel core construction
  • Stainless steel or hybrid coil reinforcement
  • PTFE coated or hydrophilic coated configurations
  • Controlled stiffness profiles from flexible to extra stiff
  • Defined distal tip shaping for procedural control

Core and coil interaction is balanced to provide proximal support with responsive distal tracking.

Dimensional Platforms

Guidewires are available across a broad performance platform including:

  • Diameter range from 0.018″ to 0.038″
  • Lengths up to 300 cm
  • Multiple stiffness profiles
  • Various distal tip shapes including J, straight, angled, and custom forms

Configuration is selected based on procedural requirements and anatomical complexity.

Standard Configurations

Standard guidewire configurations are available across commonly used diameter and length combinations aligned with interventional workflows.

Detailed dimensional specifications and configuration references are provided in the product brochure.

Customisation

Custom guidewire programs are supported for advanced and procedure-specific requirements.

Customisation may include:

  • TAVI and structural heart support wires
  • Enhanced support large-bore access wires
  • 7 cm gold tip or 7 cm tungsten tip variants
  • Extended soft distal segments
  • Hybrid core constructions
  • Custom stiffness gradients
  • OEM and private label manufacturing
  • Bulk non-sterile supply

Custom designs are evaluated for performance stability and compatibility within the intended access system.
